thanks Crucial. Got 6GB RAM now. Nice. It was cool, putting in the memory, it was the first time I opened up the box since I got in March. I guess even though I was curious, just never really had a specific reason to, until today. I was impressed with how nice it is on the inside. Psyched I was able to get such a nice machine for such a good price. HP Workstation refurb. All 4 slots are now filled. 2GB each in slot 1 and 3, 1GB each in slot 2 and 4, which means at some point I can replace those 1gigs with 2.
oooh, more RAM

diapers
6 08 2009
the diapers are really adding up and the babies aren’t even born yet. We’re mainly getting size N and 1-2. More are on the way. Amazon has good prices and free shipping. Getting 5 more big boxes coming. Oh, and grandpa is also stocking up. With 3 babies on the way, we’re going to need this head start! Maybe I should have diaper pile updates. Well hay, at least their clean…for now. In a few months these posts could get a little messy. Ha!

one word, two meanings
6 08 2009
so I’m approved. Apparently my definition of approved is different. More paperwork which was to basically prove my identity and now I have to wait. A month!! Well class starts in a month. I asked, ‘do they know class starts next month? Since I’m already in their system, wasn’t that done already. WTF! If i’m not approved in time, then this was all a waste of time.’ She says, well its not guaranteed. Well gee, thanks a lot. So if this doesn’t come back in time, well then, oh well. I guess they’ll have to approve me for something else, and that time I’ll be sure to leave PLENTY of time for them to get their s*** together. Then of course they’ll be like, approval? funding? didn’t we grant that for you already? Yeah f***faces, you did, but LATE, oh but that’s okay right, cause my contact said, ‘well you may only miss a few days’, WHAT!!!??? And on top of all this, they make you feel like a worthless piece of **** before you leave. Like, well that question is stupid, next…
They make it seem like they have all this great stuff to offer, for free, but up close you realize why its free. Like the 70 yr resume helper guy. He tells you to make your font size like 12 or 14. Uh, hello, its 2009, not 1979. After following his advice, your resume looks like a 10 yr old wrote it. What, am I looking to work for a f***ing lemonade stand.
Watching the Twilight Zone, I don’t remember the main character ever wearing a helmet, but hey, maybe I missed that episode.
Thanks for a great day

approved
5 08 2009being on unemployment can either be used as an excuse to pout or a reason to take time and invest in yourself. I chose the latter. I completed just about all my courses and have one exam to go. I also went through the state to get more funding for ‘training’ which I was approved for. I found out today. These classes will really round out what I had just finished up and should really add to my arsenal. These classes start in September. Cool!

babies are doing great…
5 08 2009we had our 24 week ultrasound yesterday. The girls are doing excellent. Baby A is 1 lb. 10 oz, B is 1 lb. 10 oz. , and C is 1 lb. 8 oz. That is great for triplets. For a single baby, the normal at 24 would be 1.8, so we are really doing well. All else is on target, the heart, stomach, lungs, kidneys, limbs, all the other stuff.

here’s mud in your eye
4 08 2009did the mountain bike race Sunday. Because of the storms in the morning the course was only about %50 or so rideable. The course went up around and down Spring Mtn, so some of the steeper windy climbs were just too slick and sloppy to get any traction. Lots of running with the bike. Another race this year in ridiculously muddy conditions. It seems that the races I get to do end up being the sloppiest. Oh well. Our allotted 4 laps were changed to 3 due to the conditions which was better. I’m definitely not in my best shape coming off the broken toe, not to mention how busy with life I am, you know, expecting triplets and all. Riding can take so much time. That’s the nice thing with running. Its much easier to get a good training run in much less time. It felt good to get out there again with friends. I also miss the suffering. You sort of become addicted to it. I really do miss the racing aspect of MTB’ing. The endurance races, the feeling of accomplishment and a sense of conquer. Anyway, I do get a lot of satisfaction from the trail run races, and look forward to getting more of them done. With my toe though, not sure when I can safely get back to that.

back in action
31 07 2009my broken toe is healing nicely. Not ready to run on yet, but I was able to do a MTB ride yesterday with no problems. That’s my first time on the bike since end of May at the Iron Hill race. Didn’t feel too bad, but I do feel the loss of strength in my lower back area. There’s a race this weekend nearby which I think I may do. Not really in race shape, but to be able to get back out there and compete and ride with friends I haven’t seen and don’t see often is worth the suffering.
Also, speaking of action, I am once again preparing for an exam. I’m prepping for a SQL certification exam (70-431) for those of you in the know. As this is all pretty new to me, its taken me the longest of all my exams to prepare for. The test is scheduled, however, I may postpone it by a week or so. Not to procrastinate, but to ensure I feel confident. It is a difficult exam. I just want to make sure I give it the respect I”m sure it deserves so not to go into it misguided.

another day in…
22 07 2009My wife’s appointment went well yesterday and today, girls are doing great. We got some good ultra sound pictures. The Tour de France is really heating up. Team Astana is really kicking ***. Good chance for them to take all podium spots. I got the car looking good, now I just gotta get the subi ready for selling. Anyone want a 2000 outback with 180K for $500. haha. check engine light is on, but fine otherwise. Anyway, my broken toe is slowly healing. There are some MTB races coming up and I’d really like to do them, so hopefully I can fit into my cycling shoes. Definitely not in my best shape, but you know, it’s not all about being in or close to the front, its about doing what you love to do. Hey, I can still finish just fine amongst the experts, so…I think once I’m officially a ‘dad’, running, either on trails or road, will be an easier activity for me to concentrate on. but we’ll see. That’s what great about cycling, 20′s, 30′s, 40′s, 50′s, it doesn’t matter.

getting ready
19 07 2009Well, we have been getting clothes and diapers to stay on top of things. Having triplets means get going. We will need lots of stuff. 3 of everything. I went to Kohl’s the other day. They had a buy 2 get 1 free sale. For most people, you would think, that’s a good deal, but do I really need 2, or even 3? For us, perfect! Since the babies will be delivered in October, most of the clothes we’ve gotten are winter. Very cute. Lots of feet pajama’s. Weren’t they the best. Lots of diapers too. Already we are loaded up, and my father has been loading up as well. We have gotten some wipes as well. Pretty much every time any of us go to Costco or BJ’s we pick some up. We will go through so many, it would just about be impossible to keep up without having an arsenal already set up. We also went to my Aunt’s yesterday and picked up some baby lounge chair things and a changing table, which I set up in the downstairs bathroom. Time is moving fast, only 3 months to go. I can’t wait. Who would of thought that I would be the father of 3 daughters? I’m sure anyone who knows me never expected it, but I would say that they feel confident that I will be a great father. And I would agree.

brief history of our soon to be triplets
18 07 2009On March 23, 2009 we found out that we were pregnant with triplets. We had been trying for a couple years and eventually had to go through IVF. We were lucky and succeeded the first try. We put 3 embryo’s in, and amazingly all 3 took. We are extremely happy.
On July 6, 2009 we found out that all 3 are girls. We have the names picked out, but I cannot post them up yet, don’t want to spoil the surprise for the family.

wait, what day is it, where am I
9 07 2009I wish I had been a little more vigilant about posting in this thing. It’s not as easy as I or you would think. So since last time, I have passed 3 more exams finishing off my MCSA. I am now in the midst of my SQL course and prepping for an August exam. I actually just moved my office space up to the third floor, built myself a desk out of all scrap wood, and am just about to finish up some bookshelves above the desk. Couple of funny stories go along with all of this.
The reason for the move upstairs is to make room for the 3 babies we will soon be having. That’s right, we are expecting triplets. We are 20 weeks pregnant with 3 girls. Yes, THREE GIRLS. Oh boy. Ha, that’s funny.
Second part of the story, while getting wood for the actual shelves, I dropped the piece of wood on my toe at Lowe’s. That hurt. And yes, it’s a broken toe for me. No running for a few weeks. This sucks. I’ll tell ya, nothing is easy and the amount of hurdles we have needed to jump is becoming tiring, but our rewards have been pretty much worth it.
I’ll just end it here, because I could pretty much write an entire book with all that has happened recently. I’ll try to express all of that in later posts…and pictures too!
